A Tailored Space Launches and Features Smilow Furniture

A Tailored Space is a unique and new online site that officially launched this Spring. We are flattered to be a featured brand.  Founder, SUSAN ROLLINS BANNON  describes her new online business  this way: Not everyone has access to their ideal interior designer or can work with them for every project. A Tailored Space was created to put designer-styled rooms and custom, “to the trade” merchandise at your fingertips. A Tailored Space presents complete room concepts by interior designers that you can browse and purchase. You can select just a few things or furnish an entire room, including the wallpaper, furniture, art, drapes, décor – everything!

Smilow® Furniture caught the eye of one of Tailored Spaces first invited designers, Rebecca Newell, ASID of Newell Design, Inc. Her AMERICAN MODERN Room was inspired by the modernist history of Smilow Design and two of their iconic chairs, Our rail back lounge chair and our woven leather lounge chair. In Rebecca’s words, “An homage to great mid-century American design. This room was inspired by the gorgeous railback and leather basket weave chairs from Smilow Design, and the story of Judy Smilow’s work to bring her father Mel Smilow’s perfectly proportioned furniture back into production. The mid-century homes of Usonia, NY, Frank Lloyd Wright’s design utopia, were also a source of inspiration for this room.”
