The Smilow Bedroom Collection includes the two-drawer Classic Bedside Table, our Wall Sconce, and the centerpiece—Japanese inspired Floating Platform Bed.
Originally designed by Mel Smilow in 1956.
When Mel designed the platform bed, he focused on the Japanese term Shibui.
As featured in a newspaper ad from 1970, he explained Shibui as "beauty that is understated, never obvious, deceptively simple while really being complex."
The Wall Scone features the signature birch dowel lined shades.
The Bedside Table and Bed are available in all our standard wood finishes.
The bed is available from a double to a California king.
